In September, the Gender Studies Program at Mada al-Carmel held a seminar to review and discuss the book Women and Their Bodies: The Guide to Women’s Health, Bodies, and Sexuality, a new Arabic-language and culturally sensitive adaptation of Our Bodies Ourselves, edited by Raghda Nabulsi and Arabiya Mansour, published by the NGO, Women and Their Bodies (2011). The seminar was opened by Ms. Suhad Daher-Nashif, Gender Studies Program coordinator, followed by a presentation by Ms. Raghda al-Nabulsi, a social worker and social and feminist activist and co-editor of the book. Ms. Arabiya Mansour, a political, social, and feminist activist, and co-editor of the book spoke next. The presentations were followed by a discussion on several key issues raised in the book.
